I'm sorry but I don't know what exactly is your question here, since you seem to know that the second drive is corrupted. Or is it that you want to confirm that?
If you still have data on that drive, which you have not backed up, I'd recommend that you do that ASAP, as it sounds like you still can access the drive (besides the freezing and slow booting issues).
Basically you could try it out with a different SATA port and cables, to see if those problems still persist. You could also test the drive with its manufacturer's diagnostic tool as well.
If you are 100% sure that the drive is faulty and if it's under warranty, I'd recommend that you try to RMA it.
