Hard crash while playing on my rig, followed by boot failure, stuck with frozen spinning dots on startup screen

So I was playing on my PC as normal last night and suddenly it turned off without notice. Immediately afterwards I tried to start it back up but couldn't get past this screen. The dots spun for a second or two then froze like that. I was able to get into the bios upon restart though.

After a few more restarts I was able to get it to say preparing automatic repair (booting from my SSD boot drive) but the spinning dots stopped again and I wasn't able to get past that screen. Made a bootable windows 10 usb and still stuck with the same screen in the same exact fashion when I tried to boot from it. Everything is set back to stock clock and I tried taking out all the unnecessary components like gpu, extra ram and hdds. I've tested both 8gb ram sticks and I don't think they're the problem.

This pc was built entirely by myself and I have used it for a year and a half without any major problem. Specs:

I7 4790k
Asrock z97 xtreme 3
Gtx 980ti gigabyte xtreme gaming
Samsung 850 evo 120gb ssd
Toshiba 3tb hdd
Xfx ts 750w psu

Are you doing a clean install of the OS? Anything but with a damaged/corrupted MBR simply put won't work.

Once you've done the clean install, I highly recommend backing up your PC with either a disk imager (i.e. Macrium Reflect) or a snapshot tool (i.e. Rollback Rx)
