Hard Dirve Trouble

Hello, I'm trying to install a used hard drive (Good Condition) on my HP laptop and also install windows XP on it, I formatted the Hard Drive and all, but the problem is that after I install the hard drive and insert my recovery discs and start the windows set up, it tells me that Set up can't continue because I could not find and hard drive. Can anyone help me?? I'm not that experienced when it comes of hard drives... Thank you guys for your time...

Is the drive being detected by the BIOS? Check your post screen or go into the BIOS at boot and see if you can see the drive.

No I'm afraid I can't see the HD on the BIOS Neither...
