requirements:
a spare port on the motherboard, a mounting spot for the drive, and sufficient power from the supply. a matching cable for the interface.
I'm pretty sure you can meet all these.
complications:
old hard drive is IDE not SATA. most new motherboards do not have IDE anymore.
after install system may boot to the newly attached drive (if previous OS is still there) and can cause boot loops and other issues. verify the boot device after the drive installation.
Windows may need to import the foreign disk in the disk manager.
shut down computer.
open the side panel.
ground yourself.
mount hard drive into the chassis.
connect the data cable IDE or SATA
insert the insert other end of data cable into proper slot on motherboard...
