Hard Disk cable error

hello. Recently I try using my external hd as my laptop internal hd. after i insert the hd to the laptop and on my laptop, it say " error check cable connection ". Can someone help me please what is the problem. Thanks

Is it plugged in as USB or SATA? if is plugged in with SATA make sure it is powered. You also can't make an external HDD plugged up with USB as your primary drive. It needs to be connected with esata or SATA.

im using sata. I already check and it is powered. What the problem then ? is there any possibility that the hd is damage ?

It's possible. Try moving what port the SATA is plugged into in the mobo or try it in another PC.
