The other day I was using my computer and need to restart to update a driver, when restarting it froze on the shutting down screen so I held the power button to turn it off. I turned it on after and there was a Boot Disk Error, I tried to enter the BIOS to see if changing the boot order would help but could not get into the boot menu. I reset the motherboard by the CMOS jumper and taking the battery out, after this I was able to click the correct button for the boot menu and it took me to a different screen that was a WAIT... screen in the BIOS where it stayed for a good 10 minutes.

motherboard: asus M5A 78L-M LX Plus

Also I dont know if this is the right section to put this under so relocate if needed.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Change the boot order in BIOS to cd and then place your win 7 disc in cd and reboot. Enter repair install when the screen asks if you want to do a full install or a repair. That should fix your boot manager issues.

The problem is that I can't access the menu to change the boot order. Once I click the correct button it takes me to a screen that says 'WAIT...' and stays on that screen.

Have you upgraded any hardware recently like video card? Have you tried a different keyboard with PS2 to see if it will let you in? Will windows load or are you stuck at the BIOS screen? If you can get to your OS then you could flash your BIOS with the ASUS utility.

Try removing the cable to your HDD and try to boot, then your video card, etc. until you have tried each cable and device between boots. That may remove a problem device long enough to allow you to enter BIOS to flash it. Unplug your PC and try resetting your CMOS again if it still hangs after checking each device.
