Hi

Ive been having some problems with my laptop recently.

The hard drive would run at 100 percent randomly and the whole system would hang.
Ive checked for viruses and done a fresh reinstall but there were no changes.

Also startup takes unusually long - 10 mins or longer.

Event viewer comes up with a list of about 40-50 of these errors - The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block (during the startup every time).

Im not too sure what everything means but "current Pending Sector Count" at 1744 is ringing alarm bells. Can someone please point me in the right direction.

My laptop is only 2 and a half years old. If the hard drive is on its way out I want to backup and get a new one asap.

Cheers in advance :)

the safest route is to buy a new one because this problem will grow or you can change the disk in hard with new one but data stored on that disk will be lost
