Hard disk issue

Hello everyone, I connected my external hard disk and it was showing up in the "safety remove hardware and eject media" option at the bottom right corner but it was not coming in my computer. Due to this I am unable to open my hard drive. Can anyone please suggest any solution on this issue.

Make and model of your external hard disk? You may want to see if the drive is visible in Disk Manager(assuming you're on Windows OS environment. If the drive is seen in Disk Manager but not shown in This PC/My Computer then it's possible that the drive is failing or has died. Formatting it will only further help loose your data if it's recoverable.

Might want to see if the issue is with your system alone or on other systems. Some drives come up as a part of your connected drives. Might want to see if that comes up in My Computer.
