Hello!! I have an asus p5kpl vm with 4gb ram, core2duo e6750, nvidia geforce 9500 gt and a 80gb maxtor hdd with windows xp pro SP3 32bit.. Everything was good and one day i decided to buy a new hdd for my pc to install a fresh copy of windows 7 64bit and get rid off the old one.. i bought a wd black 1tb..So i grounded my self and then disconnected the old hard disk and i plugged the new one.. i boot windows 7 in first attempt with a usb stick and all were very slow.. finally i was in the screen that you select hard disk for windows installation.. I tried to partition the drive and when finished, the drive wasnt visible.. i took it and i went to a friend with kubuntu, he put it in his pc and the partitioning wasn't done right in windows so he deleted and formated it and he made 3 new partitions and told me that my drive is ok.. i came home i plugged the hdd and i started windows installation from a dvd this time.. no hard disk found again!! i tried shift+f10 and then diskpart and disk list but the drive didn't appear(no disks found).. so i was a bit confused and then i plugged the old 80gb hard disk along with the new one, i went to bios to set up the boot priority, I restarted the pc and then windows stucked at xp logo with the loading bar.. is the new hard disk faulty? Please any help will be much appreciated!

What diagnostics? Also how is this happened to new hdd while my old 80gb hdd(5-6 years old) its ok?? So i went back to the store yesterday and they told me that they will give me a new one because it was faulty..
