Hard Disk on 8400?

I've recently purchased 8400 with 250GB hard disk. Up to now I've been
absolutely thrilled with the systems performance, however on occasion, the
hard disk seems to be accessing out of control which has an over all impact
on the system performance.

It seems the excessive disk accessing occurs mostly after I've been playing
games. Therefore I'm wondering what would help to remedy this:

Upgrade memory from 1GB?

or

Buy another Hard Disk and set up in a RAID configuration.

or is there some other solution?

It could be accessing the hard drive to use the paging or swap file so more
memory might help out.

I think that is unlikely if he already has 1GB. RAID won't measurably help.

After you run the game, check your memory utilization.

By the way, do you have Microsoft Office? If so, turn off FindFast and any
other Office startup programs. Also, make sure Indexing is turned OFF for
your hard drive.
