This happens if you had worm/spyware in your PC.

It's called MountPoint2 or something...

It's easy to remove so don't worry.

Open regedit, Start>All Programs>Run, type regedit.

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

Search for MountPoint2/Mount2Point or something familiar.

Then delete the registry folder (only the MountPoint2).

No need for you to reboot!

Hope this helps!

:D

Hi mokies

I've tried your given solution, it works :) ... but the problem is that I have two Hard disk drives with total 7 partitions. The first one has 3 partitions, which is my primary hard disk. and the other one has 4 partitions. When I tried your solution, it works fine with my primary hard drive in which windows installed; but for the other hard drive which has 4 partitions it failed. Another thing when I reboot my system again my primary harddisk infected with the same :(

Could you please help me out??

Hi Alis,

You will get the problem on regular basis if you have two hardisk. Best I suggest you to download combofix. It is small file which you need to run and it will fix the error.

Hey, i had the same problem with Mount2point, thanks for the solution.
But i also can't open hidden files, i have tried the "hkey...change value.." and it did not work.
I deleted viruses i didn't even knew i had...tried quite a few methods to see hidden files..nothing has worked.
Any solutions?

Hi

Whoever have problem when they open c: drive (it's opened in a new window) or cannot see the hidden files follow exactly this method :
1- Scan your full PC with Avira anti virus.
2- Reboot your system. ( Up to here the c: drive will open on it's own window).
3-Navigate with Start>run>regedit>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer>Advanced.
4-Locate hidden in the right panel and change it's value to 1.
5-Don't use again the command : Tools>Folder Options>View>& Check or Uncheck view hidden files.
6-Only click refresh (One time only) in any window containing hidden files. All files will be shown. This setting will remain as long as you respect No.5 above.

Good Luck
