Hey guys,i bought a new laptop like 5 days ago,but i noticed that the hard disk makes a strange noise without any programms running.I searched on the internet and i saw some people say its nothing, some of them say the hard disk is dying.I decided to install hd tune pro for some scan, but i turned out ok.For the past days i noticed that spin up time keeps decreasing. At first i had 253(i have read somewhere thats this is the best),but now the spin is at 214.Shoul i be worrying that my hard is gonna die or is normal?
Here's a link of how the sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9obzgmWrlM

Solution
Hi there StreXiX,

It may be a good idea to back up the data stored on the drive. This is not really a normal HDD sound.
Given the fact that the laptop is under warranty, it would be good if you just RMA it.

If it sounds like a ping pong match in your computer, RMA that laptop since the HDD is about to die. The sound you linked to though isn't abnormal, it's just the sound of heavy use. Perhaps you're syncing files or doing something else that requires fairly random access?
