Hard disk size reduced to half after formatting hard drive

HI this is my first time
I have a samsung IDE hard drive 500 GB. My system crashed so I tried formatting but it wouldnt work so I read somewhere that removing all other drives and shifting jumper could solve problem so I tried shifting jumper position and accidently put it in limit size to 32 GB slot and formatted HDD. Then I realised the mistake and replanted jumper and now its showing only 250 GB size

SO my question is
1. How can I regain that rest of space i.e approx 200GB
2.I didnt format my whole Hard drive when I limited the size to 32 GB so is there anyway I can recover that data
3. My HDD doesnt show anywhere [printed on it ] that its a 500 GB HDD so how can I know its capacity without connecting would using serial no help

you have to fdisk the drive and remove all the partion then fdisk the drive again and then reboot and the full amount should be fine.

Ok now that I have recovered my HDD space I will try and check it with HD sentinel
how can I restore my data I am sure that I didnt format the rest of the drive ?

you have to fdisk the drive and remove all the partion then fdisk the drive again and then reboot and the full amount should be fine.
