Hi . I have a Dell Xps L502X.
One day it ran out of battery and went to hibernate mode .
when I connected the AC supply ,it didn't switch on.
I read online that I had to take out the battery and power, then I had to keep pressing the power button to discharge it.
After doing a lot of gymnastics with my Laptop, I did discharged it.

It switched on all right, but now my hard disk isn't spinning at all. And my os can't be read. I get an error.

Realtek PCIe FE Family controller Series v1.19(08/10/09)
PXE-EGI-Media test failure,check cable
PXE-MOF-Exiting PXE ROM

Does this mean my hard disk is permanently crashed?
Will buying a New hard disk fix this issue or can there be problem with the motherboard ports?
Please help.
Thank you.

Hey Prateel Spk. It sounds like there might be a problem with the power connection. It's unusual for a hard drive to completely stop spinning all of a sudden without a warning. I'd suggest that you connect the drive to a different computer either externally or internally to see if it's working so that you can isolate the problem. If it spins up and is recognized I'd also suggest that you run the manufacturer's diagnostic utility tool to test it.

Hope that helps.
