Hard Disk used or not?

I have bought a Hard Disk from an online shop .after i install it i found there is a pre installed operating system and partitioning.This an western Digital Hard Drive of 320 GB.Is it used? Does they gave me an used or refurbished Hard Drive?

I have to point out that flashing firmware to Western Digital drives (even the same version) resets their SMART power-on hours count to zero. Fortunately they don't offer firmware for download on their website, only through support, so this isn't as likely.

New internal drives aren't partitioned or formatted, so somebody used it even if it was only the store for testing.

That's absolutely not "new".
Drives do not come with an OS already installed.

Register it with WD, and see what the warranty status is.
