Question Hard disque of CCTV

Hi,

I have a CCTV with 500GB Hard disc, i want to check the DATA stored in the hard disc, when i connect it with Laptop, it doesn't work, the laptop detect the hard drive but it doesn't show up,..

I need your help please to get access to the hard drive .

Try booting the laptop from a Live Linux distribution, on CD or USB flash drive, then attempt the CCTV drive access again.

Most CCTV systems are embedded Linux Operating Systems, and use the filesystem types common to Linux, which windows cannot typically access and read.

Many DVR drives are firmware locked.

Now I need to pull my security system drives to check....

install DiskInternals Linux Reader (Free Demo) . I don't believe the other windows linux reader apps can read thru usb interfaces.
