I have lots of files on my current system on old hard drives. I want to move them all to a new drive(s), but I'm not sure if I should get one large hard drive or multiple smaller ones. I have around 1.3 TB worth of data to move so should I get a 2TB drive or settle for 2, one TB drives?

Solution
I would suggest at least 2 drives. That way you can always assign each drive to certain files for better organization. Also, external hard drives can also be used to store files if you want to save space inside your case.
One 2TB drive would most likely be cheaper, add less weight to your overall PC weight, and need less cable, hence less cable clutter.
However, with two drives, you have data stored in two locations. So if one was to accidentally crash, you will still have the data from the other drive. Also, you can keep the extremely important data on both drives, as a back up, in case anything should happen.

Oh yes, I completely forgot about external drives. I could use a 2 TB internal drive for my main files and get a external drive for my smaller files. Thank you
