Hard Drive Blue Screen?

had a couple old caviar blue wd drives sitting around, one is actually in my main system running fine....i tried to hook up the second one to a different system and got a blue screen about 3% into windows install....i actually had a feeling there was something wrong with this drive from some work i did with it a few months ago, but never bothered to fully check it out...so then after it blue screened that system, i put it in my main system...as the slave drive, and it blue screened my main system....i don't know if i've ever seen a hard drive so determined to blue screen systems like this, think it's worth any effort for me to try and fix it by running utilities on the drive? or just toss it?

When you put it in the second system did you try a clean format? Is it still under warranty? Then you can run WD diagnostics and RMA if wrong, http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?wdc_lang=en&fid=wdsfCaviar_Blue
