Hard drive boot problem

I recently got my hard drive from my old computer to put into my new one but I connected everything and tried to boot windows 7 but it just detected the hard drive and then I let it boot after it got past the usual checks and it just put a black screen now a few hours later it no longer detects the hard drive after me trying to connect it and clean out the terminals

Didn't understand right, did you boot W7 from that drive ?
