Hi,

My Name is Kyle. I've been asked by my father's friend to fix his Toshiba Satellite P10 PSP10E laptop. I had a look at it and the Hard Drive's messed up, When I start up Windows XP Home Edition Setup and It asks me to choose a hard drive, it says that there are no hard drives and I press any button and it will show the BSOD. I put the Hard Drive in my Father's old Sony Vaio and It just said it can't find a Hard Drive on Setup but no BSOD, in BIOS on the Toshiba Laptop, it detects the HDD (Hitachi Hard Drive, Internal). How do I fix it to work and Install Windows for him? If you need Specs or anything just ask me

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

You probably need to install the "F6 driver" first. It's either on a floppy disk, driver CD or you can search for it on the net. While the XP install starts, it says something like "press F6 to..." XP knows of most of the disk controllers, but not all and so doesn't find the hdd.
