Community,

Okay all... I need your help once again. I have a Seagate Barricuda 1TB 32mb Cache 7200rpm - It is quite old but still good. I have it split into 2 partitions that hold game downloads, music, and movie files. My SSD runs the main OS and all my games.

So my problem is that about half a year ago it started making a clicking noise when I open up one of those 2 partitions. I'll double click the x: drive (x=random letter drive for my hard drive) and it takes about 3-4 seconds to open and funny thing is I know it will click before it opens, so I listen for it and low and behold a click in my hard drive then the drive will open, it occurs with any file that is on any of those HD partitions - the SSD does not do this at all.

I looked online and got crystaldiskmark to check the status of the HD - CDM says that it is in caution status and the SSD is in good green condition. So a week ago I sent in the HD to Seagate for a warranty. They just sent me a replacement (refurbished) HD - same make and model. Now this HD does the SAME THING!

I have looked online all over and nothing with the same symptoms. I checked crystalmarkdisk for the new HD and it says it is in good condition.

Can anyone with knowledge of this give me a hand? I have been trying to solve this issue for a while now and it is so annoying. Please...anything would help.

Thanks.
