Hard Drive data says it has data but I can't access it

It's hard but easy to explain. My hard drive says it has "690GB of 1.82TB free" but when i click on it there is nothing on the Hard Drive? Any ideas?

If the master boot record is fudged or damage then it is not possible to access your data. In this case trying a professional data recovery tool will be the smart step.
