Hard drive dead?

Asap help please, just been playing some games as I normally do when my HDD 1tb just froze my comp I had to hold power button, restarting it back up it makes a clicking noise then like a wizz noise like its winding back up? looking into my case nothing in the way of the HDD causing anything even if thats possible any ideas? time for a new hard drive and if so how easy can it be getting my windows onto it?

Yep, it's probably done for. The tell tale sign of a dead HDD is a clicking or grinding sound coming from inside the casing.

Use the same motherboard as you had, get the windows installation media on a flash drive or CD, use it on a new HDD

yea clicks mean the drive is dead. the winding noice means something like its trying to attempt to read it again. time for a new drive
