Hi! I have an issue with some hard drive. It powers up it makes two click noises, and then stops.Tough, windows is able to detect it as unformatted drive, but the drive is not spinning anyhow... HELP!

At least, is there any possibility to recover entire data of contents if the drive is not spinning?

Clicking then stopping is a bad sign of internal mechanical failure usually.

Unless Windows can read the drive properly (which it can't) you won't be able to recover any data yourself, but there are specialist data recovery services that can do it for you (at a hefty price). Too bad you didn't have it's contents backed up when it was working okay - - I cannot understand how anyone doesn't bother with backups of data they don't want to lose, when these days it's so easy and affordable to do.

Hello! Tell me, if i swap HDD board with another identical one will it work ? The power board has a blue led activity that doesn't work anymore since the drive is not spinning, i tested the power board to another drive and works, it reads the HDD but the activity led is off.I tought to replace HDD board and power board (since it was a portable 4TB drive) and see what happens. As to your understanding, i used this 4TB as mainly for backup data. But here it goes...:??:
