Hard Drive Disappearing Upon Restart

I've had this hard drive for a long time. At random times the hard drive will dissapear from the system entirely, not appear in Disk Management or Device Manager. Then at random it will reappear when I restart the computer, but not always.

Back up its contents and replace it. Sounds like it's starting to fail.
You could also download the Seagate Seatools for Windows and test the drive

Hi, have you tried double checking your Advanced Power Plan Settings to see if you may have set to X amount of minutes the Turn off hard disk after idle option? If so, change it to Never. Also, check if there may be an issue with the power and data cables connected to the HDD.
