Hard Drive enclosure ?

so my hard drive aint working anymore and when i connect it to the motherboard my PC freezes and if restart it , it wont boot so i ask someone what should i do , they said buy a Hard drive enclosure , i dont know what that is , so if i bought it one would i still see my files and it wont freeze again ? and my important question is ? will any HD enclosure will do to my hard drive ? pls answer thanks

I don't understand what a hard drive enclosure is supposed to do if there is a physical problem with a drive. Is this a boot drive ? And perhaps the OS is just trashed ?

A HD enclosure is intended to provide you with a portable drive to take from place to place or perhaps for off site backups. The most portability and usability, I recommend these:

If the drive is physically OK, using this in another machine or with a working boot drive, you should be able to pull any valuable files off the drive.
