I've moved into a flat and i am wanting to find a program (like McAfee Drive Encryption) but obviously a free one to encrypt my additional hard drives on my desktop PC (not just the C drive that windows 10 "protects" with account login) should it get stolen. So basically if someone took my harddrive out and placed it into another computer, it would be permanently locked.

I have 6 Hard drives - 2 of which are SSDs.

Do you guys use or recommend any freeware? If there isn't any, is there one with a small cost?

Before you encrypt your drive, however, you will be asked to enter a password that must be entered every time you turn on your PC, before you even get to the Windows login screen. Windows gives you a choice of either entering the password manually or inserting a USB key. Choose whichever method you prefer, but I recommend sticking with the manual password so you aren’t depending on a single USB key for authentication.
