what will happen to my hard drive if i upgrade its firmware, will the partition be safe or deleted??? help is required, please guide me....... Thanks

Solution
The firmware instructions should tell you if its destructive or not but anytime you mess with your drives you should do a full backup first, or have recently made one.
There's no bad sector in the drive (seagate 1TB), but every time i start my computer, check disk utility appears and start scanning my drives, even i formatted the drive and made new partition and restored my data back into it, but still the check disk utility was appearing, so i thought the firmware upgrade is available and should get advantage of it.............
Otherwise normally i never updated the firmwares of my hard drives

Welcome, SUM DINAX!

I'd recommend you to test your drive using the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool as it would be much more accurate about the health and most importantly the SMART data status of the drive. You should be able to find this testing utility on their website.
While at it, you can search for a knowledge base or hard drive's model to find instructions on how to upgrade the firmware. Be careful with this procedure though, because if the process is interrupted you could corrupt the HDD.

Hope this helps. :) Good luck!
