Any help would be much appreciated.

Solution
Would there be anyway of fixing this drive do you think? I don't really mind if I lose any data.
Most probably not, surface once damaged is not fixable. Platters or heads are replaceable under right conditions in right shop with right tools but not at home and would cost many times more than new disk, that may be done to salvage data only, not long term solution.
In other words, it's scrap.
