I bought a laptop a couple months ago from Best Buy. It had win 10 home on it. I managed to format it, in order to install Ubuntu. It had/has a couple partitions, that I was able to use a partition program on. Now that doesn't even work. Thought 'd just reinstall win 10 home and use the partition program to make it 1 partition, but it doesn't see the hard drive now, either.

I realize this is kind of uninformed, but I have no idea what an expert needs to know in order to help me with this problem.

I am at a loss and about to throw it against a wall and then go postal.

How do I get the dammed hard drive back? I just want an OS that doesn't spy on me and charge me for codecs and whatnot. Win 10 is evil incarnate, after all.

Thank you for your time.

I bought it online. Apparently the "warranty" was only for 2 weeks. Received it May 18 and "warranty" was up June 2.

Do not use Best Buy, folks.

Apparently, that is their policy. Just looked and it's actually 15 days for most of their products. Unbelievable.

I thank you for your time.
