[SOLVED] Hard Drive Issue?

My PC sat unused for ~1.5 years and now will not turn on with everything connected. I can boot into BIOS with CPU, PSU, and Mobo connected. I cannot boot if either my SSD or HDD is connected to the PSU.

CPU: Intel i5 4690k
Motherboard: Asus Vanguard B85
PSU: Corsair CX750M
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 250g
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Memory: 8gb ddr3

I can't quite seem to find my specific issue anywhere online. I appreciate any help/insight!

Does the HDD/SSD is detected on BIOS ? and which one have windows system inside (HDD or SSD) ?

I can't get it to connect/detect as it will not boot if either drive is connected. Windows is on the SSD.

Try to boot only with SSD, and also try to boot only with HDD. What the result ?

It will not boot with either.

Try go to BIOS, find "secure boot" option, and make sure they are set as "disabled". Then on boot priorities , set the SSD to number 1/ top. Then try to boot.
If it's doesn't work, try to clear BIOS.

I've disabled the secure boot. Sorry, I believe I've misspoken: I can't get the PC to turn on when I have either of my drives connected to the power supply. Therefore, I can't even get the SSD to show up as a boot option in the BIOS.

Okay so this what do you mean. Because I'm not really good in english.
Power issue sometimes can make the HDD/SSD not detected by BIOS.
But for make sure, do you feel the HDD spinning when you try to boot ?
Try to boot without GPU installed.

I do not feel the HDD spin when I try to boot. The CPU fan will briefly move when doing so but the computer does not seem to turn on. I have not had the GPU plugged in because it will not start with that installed either.

Do you have another PSU ? The possible issue is your PSU doesn't supply power for SATA port.
or do you have another systems to check if the HDD and SSD is still working.

I have another one and am having the same issues. I do not have another desktop to check the HDD or SSD but may pick up an enclosure to test them.

Okay, let's see what the result. Be aware, since 2,5" enclosure can't work with 3,5" HDD.

Finally got an enclosure for the SSD. It works and I am able to access the files. The OS is on this drive.

Then the drive is not the problem. Do you have another PSU or Motherboard ? you have to check them, since they won't boot at all when drive is connected.

Yes as of recent I've got an extra of each. I will check them tomorrow and will provide updates.

I switched out the PSU with a 650W and everything is now working.
