Question Hard drive makin a clicking and beeping.

So i just put together my new computer and my HDD is making a beeping and clicking noise and not showing up in the bios. It goes 2 clicks then a beep and is just repeating.

Does anyone know whats wrong? My hard drive is a toshiba p300

Sounds like a dead drive. Do you have another pc to test it in?

Is this a new drive, or something from an older system?

Yeah i have anoth pc to test it in

If it does the same thing in the other pc its definitely dead.
If its a new drive, rma it. If its out of warranty, toss it

If it's a new drive I would return it.

If it's an old drive and you want data off it I'd give it a good smack.

I've gotten quite a few drives to work by giving them a smack.

....then I hurry up and grab the data ASAP and then toss the drive in the trash.

If it's an old drive and a new build and you don't need data from it I would just toss it.
