HARD DRIVE MISSING

My laptop has two drives a C(14GB) drive and a D(283GB) drive. The OS is in C drive. Since yesterday the D drive has gone missing. When I go to disk management it shows 283GB space,but no letter is assigned to it. When I try to assign, it says diskmanagement console is out of date. So, I used EASEUS partition recovery. All the files are intact but I have no sufficient space to move the data into as the data shows 160 odd GB and my laptop now has only 14GB. However the 283 GB is unaccounted for. How can I copy all those files into the 283GB partition. Please help. Thank you.

take the drive out and put it into a computer to recover the data

Or buy an external drive and recover the files to that. You should have learned already, that every disk needs a backup, so you need the external drive anyway.

Should I uninstall the drivers before I remove the hard disk?

Why would u do that???
NO u don't have to uninstall anything, unless it's a game with save data you don't plan on playing anymore or a program you hardly ever use.
