Hard drive no showing light

i guys, I have a 1tb Seagate external hard drive. When i plug it in my computer, it does not get recognized; it's not in My Computer but when i checked the area where i can "safely remove a device" it's there; also it's in my Device Manager it even says "the device is working properly" . The light of the hard drive is NOT working also. Please help. I need to recover an important file As soon as possible .

how and with what are you plugging it into the computer. It is most likely externally powered, make sure it's getting power.
