I was installing windows 10 on an ssd that I got, and I forgot to back up everything on the hard drive that I used to use. I didn't have it screwed in when I was going to transfer the files from the old drive into a new drive and it made a weird noise. Now when I try to transfer the files, the hard drive shows up in the bios (but says it is 0gb) but no where else in windows. Yes I checked disc management. It hasn't been making any weird noises or clicking sounds and starts, fine. I've tried it on two computers and won't show up in the WDC diagnostics tool. Does ANYONE know whats going on.

Hey there, Fudgepuddlez.

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having with your drive. Did you had any problems with it prior to this one? Is the drive recognized in Device Manager? I guess you've checked Disk Management with the other PCs you've tried the HDD with, as well?
It does sound really weird indeed. It should've at least popped up in one of the computer's you've tried it with if the drive has no physical faults. As I assume the priority here is data recovery, so I'd suggest that you try some of the data recovery programs from those links, to see if at least one of them detects the drive and if you are able to recover your data. Another option would be to try and access the drive via Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if it's properly recognized and if you can get to your files. Another option (the most reliable of them all) would be a professional solution, such as a data recovery company: WD Data Recovery Partners

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
