Hard Drive not being recognized

My hard is plugged in and powered, it is being recognized in my bios but not in windows when I check my "Devices and Drives". Please need urgent help!!

I did that now, and it says it's there. Than when I go back to my documents and click "devices & drives" it doesn't show up.

ok. does it have a drive letter? right click on it and see if you can add one.
Again, it this a new drive? if so, might need to format/initialize it

Could you possibly explain to me how to get to disk management?

Hi,

To go to disk management just do right click on my computer and then select manage option. It will take you to disk management window. After this Click on storage drop down button and select disk management. There you will see all your drive and also get the option to change the drive letter name.
