Hard drive not detected in bios, not making clicking noise, little bit of a buzzing noise

Hi There,

My hard drive is not making a clicking noise and it isn't detected in bios however, it is making a bit of a buzzing noise. I tested a working hard drive on the same PC and it worked perfectly. I also tried putting the broken hard drive in another PC and it still wasn't detected.

Any ideas?

Return for an exchange from whatever seller you bought if from if you're within the allowed return window.

If not, warranty claim with the manufacturer.

Last time I tried quoting a professional recovery service it was $2000.

Be aware that Waqas Ali is a SalvationData trainer and that he would normally be performing the procedure with gloves in a special cleanroom or clean chamber.

If you have no intention of engaging professional services, then at least prepare yourself by doing some reading on the subject. Dust will cause a head crash, so it's not advisable to open your drive outside a cleanroom. It's your choice, though.

BTW, put your ear against the drive and confirm that it is indeed stuck.
