Question hard drive not detected

just switched to a aorus x470 ultra gaming motherboard. after getting everything back together and making sure all drivers are up to date bios is still not detecting my sata hdd. It powers up fine and i can hear the drive running. the drive was working prior to the switch this morning. any suggestions?
