I've had problems with my hard drive it wouldn't get recognized at all but restarting a pc a few times would fix it. So i've ran tests and it said it has bad sectors or something. Today i got SSD installed windows on it and before getting my drive replaced(it still has warranty) i would like to transfer as much data as i can, my internet is very slow and i have over a terabyte which are mostly games. My pc wont recognize hard drive at all but after a random restart my drive showed up but me being stupid i end tasked my windows and had to restart but when i did i can't see my drive at all. Is there something i can do to make my drive show up i tried restarting a lot but it won't show up again. Drive is WD Caviar blue 2TB. Also this is the sound that drive makes you can hear it two times its kind of like a click: https://vocaroo.com/i/s1q7HKTK74Hv

Hi @petarmadar24!

Have you tried changing the HDD to another sata port in your motherboard?

Have you tried to use a HDD docking station?
i have tried different sata port different cables for which im 100% sure they are working and i have also tried different power cable. I don't have a docking station in fact i haven't even known the thing exists would that do something different?

The docking station would be for testing the drive in other devices but is not really necessary. This sounds like a dead drive to me. But I do have to add that you may be able to see your drive in the windows 10 installer drive selection... I know this because it happened to me the other day, Windows explorer did not recognize a drive, i thought it was dead but I was to lazy to take it out, when I booted the Windows ISO in another drive, I was able to see the drive I thought was dead, I formatted it and then I was able to see it in the windows explorer for some reason. Maybe try that... boot up Windows ISO and see if you see your drive, format it and then reboot your PC without installing Windows.

Hope this works. It is a long-shot, your drive is probably dead. But I hope this works for you as well.

PD: Also try to check if you see it in the disk management tool from W10
