Hard drive not recognized anywhere.

Hello all, Ive run into a problem with my hard drive. I have an ssd with my OS on it in SATA port 1. My HDD is in port 2. HDD can not be seen by the pc. its not in disk management or in bios. I have switched all cables and ports. The drive spins up fine and all the 8tb of files is still on the drive and not corrupted.I know this because i used a usb and SATA cable adapter to make sure the drive wasn't bricked. Any ideas please?

MSI - Z87-G43 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
EVGA - GeForce GTX 770 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card
G.Skill - Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Try it in another system. Bit odd that it works OK with a USB adapter but not directly on the system. Do you have another drive to try with the system?

Also if you like you data, make sure you have a backup.
