Question Hard drive not showing proper free space

Hi, I installed an internal 3tb Hitachi hard drive into Windows 10 64-bit. It shows total space in Disk Management as 2794.50 GB (correct). However, I then highlighted every file on the drive (I made sure the hidden files box was checked) and it shows 1.77 TB used (seems correct too). However, in my computer, it shows in Disk Management only 400GB free. I clicked properties in Disk Management and it shows 2.33 TB space used. Shouldn’t there be almost 1 TB free, not just 400GB??? Why is there a discrepancy. I know it is 1.77TB really not 2.33 TB. Please help! Thank you so much in advance!!!

Install and run either WinDirStat, or WizTree.

Run as Administrator, selecting only the drive in question.

I installed Wiztree. How do I do a screenshot? It shows the size and allocated are both about 2,388.9 GB. It shows 943,986 files but when I just highlighted the files myself in windows explorer it showed 406,529 files

Also I highlighted all the files in Wiztree and it still shows 1.72 TB used. And it’s the same on the internal hd and the same issue on an external 3tb with identical files on it!!!
