Hard Drive not Spinning Up

A few months ago I bought a 1TB WD Caviar Blue and have been using it as an external drive with a power cable and sata to usb converter. It has been working fin and I have about 400GB of data on it. Today I moved my laptop and hardrive to another building and now the hard drive does not spin up when I give it power. Is there any way I can recover data before taking it back under warranty? (They will probably replace it when they see it is dead)

If the drive doesn't spin up, there's no way to recover any data without disassembly. Unfortunately, that's not something I'd suggest trying to do. Could be a bad motor, could be a head issue.

It sounds like a bad PCB. Before replacing the drive, I would test the following components:

If any are damaged, then your PSU will be to blame.
