I need to replace a hard drive in a laptop. It is a western digital drive. it seems that drive is no longer available but there is one with the exact specs except for the power management. the old drive has 5VDC of .55A and the new one has 5VDC 1.75A. This seems like a significant difference to me. Is it?
thanks

Solution
It is a significant difference and one of the values is wrong. Beside that, you don't need the exact same type of hdd for a replacement. If it's an sata drive, any other sata 2.5" hdd/ssd will do.
