Hard Drive Questions for PS4

So I am going to try to connect a 3.5" internal hard drive to my PS4. In order to do this, I am planning to do the following procedure.

1. Get a sata data extension cable,

2. Get an AC power cord to power hard drive externally. The PS4 could probably power it, but it is best to use external power for a more power hungry hard drive. I also only want one cable (data) coming out of the PS4.

3. Get molex to sata power adapter to power hard drive,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Male-Power-Cord-to-Molex-IDE-4-pin-Female-Power-Drive-Convert-SATA-15-pin-BK16-/261692466382?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item3cee1624ce

4. Get 3.5" HDD, (any 7200 RPM will do),

5. Remove the existing hard drive

6. Install the sata data extension cable and feed it to the back of the PS4 as seen,

7. Install data cable into hard drive.

8. Plug hard drive into AC adapter with molex to sata power adapter connected.

9. Enjoy!

Anybody see why this would not work?

No clue. Have you tried it yet? My thought is there should be no problem powering it from the PS4 also, instead of step 2...
Other thought would be if/how you are going to enclose the 3.5 drive.

I was just going to put the drive in one of my hard drive bay brackets from my computer. That is good enough for me because I never move my PS4.
I have not tried yet but I did order the parts. The lead time is about 2 months. I am going to give an update/ make a tutorial once the process is completed.

The trick here is that the PS4 recognizes the device as internal. it is a trick and not a standard way to do things. This article only says it does not support the standard usb or esata external hard drive. Not what I am doing. Thank you looking though.

I would rather just have 10 PS4's to put different games on lol. Hopefully some day something like that is $50
