Hello there!
My HDD has randomly just increased in activity to 100%, even when windows is idling and wont stop. I've then taken the temps and noticed that it randomly spikes up to 50C then goes back down to 35C. My windows just randomly slows down at the higher temps. Is there any reason for this?

PC Specs:

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Pentium E5700 @ 3.00GHz
Storage: 298GB Western Digital WDC WD3200AAJS-22L7A0 (SATA )
GPU:Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset (Acer Incorporated [ALI])

My CPU temps are stable at 30C - 40C and Graphics are also stable at around 30C - 40C
It's only the hard drive
Any help is really appreciated!

Even if windows isn't idling. The HDD goes to 100%, I check Task Manager and the background processes use barely any of the disk.

Not even the programs that I run. Even in other windows versions like Windows 7 or 8
