Question Hard Drive Says 500MB but its a 500GB Drive.

When i go to disk management and check it still says 500MB instead of 500GB.

Like another for use or one in the computer because i tried both hard drives and even my ssd and it does the same thing.

Is this the only drive in the system?
That is a 120GB drive.
There is no 500GB in your screencap.


That first partition that is reading "500MB" is the boot partition, and should not have a drive letter.

Right click on D: and then on "Change Drive Letters and Paths". Rremove the D: drive letter. you should not be using that partition and should not assign it a letter.

if you believe you have a 500GB drive in your PC then you need to open the cover on it and verify that it is still there and connected. 1 larger connector goes to the power Supply cable and a smaller one goes to the motherboard. Make sure the power switch is off on the back of the power supply before you open it up.

It is still connected, i removed the drive letter, i dont know what that did.

Which contradicts your earlier statment of:

The 500GB HDD can't show up unless/until you connect it.

So, after coonnecting it...show us a screencap of THAT Disk Management window.

Please check Device Manager and if it's not there then you get to see if it shows up in the bios.

It says intel raid volume 1 for device manager and only that. in bios i think it says 500gb but let me check that
