My HTPC was freezing as the 8TB media hard drive from SeaGate started spinning in a loop. This started when I set the hard drive to sleep after 30 minutes, so I turned off the sleep and it stopped freezing. However, the HD has been making what sound to me like failure noises and video streaming is choppy, so I suspect that may be the problem. I tried the SeaTools long test and it found no errors. I'm trying to figure out if there's another free software that I should also try to test it with.
