Title says it all, The connections are fine, the HDD shows up everywhere (BIOS, Device Manager, Crystal Disk Info Application etc) except File Explorer and Disk Manager, It's really annoying me since i bought 2 1TB drives specifically so i could have.. well 2TB of storage, I got some screenshots if that helps.

*This* Shows where the drive shows up on the OS

*This* Shows both showing up in BIOS

Help would be greatly appreciated, i've been trying to fix this for the past 2 days and it's really starting to get to me...

EDIT: From the WD Blue Diagnostic Software - https://imgur.com/gallery/UMrmIVh

UPDATE: For those with this problem, Get the Western digital Lifegaurd software and "erase" the Faulty drive (quick erase or full it doesn't matter) and it'll fix the problem

Are you trying to strip these drives together to get 2TB? If you add only one 1TB drive, does it show up?

Are you raiding from the BIOS or from Windows?

If you are raiding from the BIOS or a Raid card. Then 2TB may not show up in Windows while using MBR as the boot method. MBR is limited to 2TB.

You may need to convert the partition to GPT from whatever Raid medium you are using in order for it to show up.

But the Disk doesn't show up in disk Management, That's the whole problem

That image shows it

Ah yeah I see it now. I'm replying on my phone and couldn't see that half of the image.

Have you checked both the drives? So take one out and see if it registers in disk management and then swap it out with the other and check disk management again. Does any of them show up if plugged in independently?

What cloning software did you use ? Notice that both drives are labelled exactly the same. That's a likely problem.
( I would add a significant file to one so you can distinguish the drives.)

I would guess that if you can be sure that you can tell the difference between them you can boot from one so long as the other is unattached . If so, come back for further discussion.

Cloning software? i haven't done anything to the drives since i built the PC other than update the drivers.

EDIT: The drive that isn't working is completely empty, the other has windows and everything on it, i know which one is which Physically

EDIT 2: The designation in bios "WD10EZEX" is just the HDD Model #

I mean... i don't think it would be that, all the SATA ports seem fine, i'm thinking it's either a faulty Drive or a faulty SATA Cable

I did that yea, basically, the normal drive worked (Obviously) the one that doesn't show up asked for some type of Boot device

Why? He is wanting to use it as a spare drive. Windows should not be installed on it.

@tyler161999 Try to run a check disk on the second drive if you can. Or removed it and attach to another PC with USB adapter and try running a diag tool like WD Lifeguard or even Reflect can do that.

One can clone windows easily on a storage drive. In fact its a good way to have a backup . Saves dealing with problem windows issues. You can store files there and still use it as a clone for back up. Thats the best plan but frankly too many users do not think of a back up until its too late.

Other then the fact its a terrible idea to clone a primary drive to a secondary internal disk... windows will think its dual booting and it can cause issues... You are better off just using a free backup program and performing a backup instead of a clone to the secondary drive.

Both Reflect and Veeam can do this for free.

Also if you been reading the thread he has reinstalled Windows quite a few times during troubleshooting. I doubt he even has data to save right now. He just wants the two drives working properly so they can actually be used on a fresh system.
