I have 5, 4TB hdds in a orico 5 bay usb 3.0 HDD enclosure. I have put them in a big windows storage pool raid 5 type of setup and it has 12TB free.

The problem is the whole pool goes to sleep in about a minute making me have to wait for it to warm up every time I access it. I have turned usb power saver off, I have turned hard drive sleep in power options off, and I downloaded a tool to supposedly keep it going.

Why does windows keep shutting them disks down and how can I make it stop? I asked on technet and no one replied.

When you put HDDs into a RAID enclosure, the enclosure controls aspects like the powersave timer, not Windows. Based on reviews, it seems like Orico lets you change the setting in the software they ship with the device. (Towards the bottom of the page, search for "sleep")

This isn't a raid enclosure though does that make a difference. Also I can't find the orico manager software anywhere it doesn't seem to be on their website.
