Hard Drive Space changing sporadically

Yesterday I had about 180 GB left out of 1 TB and today first thing I did when I started my PC was start a defrag and left for about an hour or 2 and came back to find that my hard drive space is now at 80 GB and is slowly going down.. and so I went into my Program Files and deleted some old games and files I don't use anymore to get back to 120 GB but again currently it's going down slowly and I really don't know what to do, I have done a virus search and got nothing and also did a disk cleanup but that did nothing but free up 50 mb so does anyone know what is happening?

Slowly filling up my hard drive? No I don't think I can. What is happening is that i'm slowly losing my hard drive space, I deleted my old restore points and now i'm at 299 GB of space but I don't know if it's going change yet, I'm also still defragging so I don't know if defragging usually takes away my hard drive space or not because I never paid attention.

I never touch my computer while I defrag it, so I never look at the capacity to see if windows reports it as changing during the defrag. I'd recommend that if you are running a defrag, just let it run until it's finished before doing anything else.

Yeah, by now though usually my hard drive space would go down but it's staying at 299 GB so i'll wait until my defrag is done and will report if anything is unusual. I checked the properties of my Local Disk to see how much space it says it uses and it says it uses 601 GB out of 931 GB so I should I have 330 GB but I have 299 GB but I'm assuming that windows 7 is using that 30 GB.
